This article will address the following information:
Canvas Updates
- In SpeedGrader, the student drop-down menu includes an indicator showing which student is currently being viewed. This helps instructors quickly identify the currently selected student in SpeedGrader, making it easier to navigate submissions and reducing confusion when switching between students.
- The quiz accommodation tray in New Quizzes has been redesigned for clarity and ease of use. Instructors can apply time adjustments and reopen a student's quiz attempt in a single action. The tray also shows a real-time breakdown of all time sources, the base quiz time, any course-level accommodations, and the quiz-level adjustment, so instructors always know what the student's total allowed time will be before saving.
- Admins can add links to the account, course and user navigation menus, and instructors can add links to the course navigation menu.
- The New Quizzes Native Canvas Integration feature option default status is changed to enabled. Institutions can still disable the feature option until the enforcement date.
- External tools with course navigation placement set to admins visibility show a crossed-out eye icon in the course navigation menu. This icon indicates the tool is hidden from students.
- This will impact tools such as the Photo Roster, which is only visible to Instructors.
- In SpeedGrader, excusing a group submission excuses every student in the group, while excusing an individual student in the Gradebook excuses only that student, leaving the rest of the group unaffected. Previously, excusing a group submission from SpeedGrader only excused the individual student, leaving the rest of the group members unexcused.
