Instructors may want to check what Residential College / Dean their students are associated with when coordinating events / activities for their class, or if they need to escalate an issue. Yale University's instance of Canvas provides this information through the Photo Roster tool, which contains a "List' view that shows additional student information like Residential College, Residential College, Major (where applicable), Program, and Graduation Year.
Note: Most Yale College students will have their Residenial College Dean listed, though some students may not have a Dean assigned. GSAS and Professional School students will have their Primary Academic Advisor listed in this field if their advisor is input in Banner (the Student Information System).
- Navigate into the Canvas course site and click the Photo Roster tool in the Course Navigation menu.
- In the Photo Roster, select to toggle over to the List view.
- Scroll to the right in the roster table to view the:
- Residential College
- Residential College Dean / Adviser Contact
- Major
- Program
- Graduation Year
