Enabling the Dyslexia Friendly Font for Your Canvas @ Yale Account

Updated on

Users can change all system and user-generated text in Canvas @ Yale to a Dyslexia friendly font. This font change will be applied to all text native to Canvas, such as Announcements, Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, Pages, etc. Additionally, all navigation and system text will also be updated.

Content created and displayed in external tools integrated with Canvas @ Yale will not display in the Dyslexia Friendly Font. This includes Files uploaded by the Instructor, videos created and shared through the Media Library, and external tools that take the user out of Canvas @ Yale or are embedded within the Canvas @ Yale interface (such as Gradescope).

Enabling the Dyslexia friendly font only affects your individual account and will persist between login sessions to Canvas @ Yale.

  1. Click the "Account" icon in the Global Navigation menu to open the system tray.
  2. Toggle the "Use a Dyslexia Friendly Font" option to the on position.
  1. Once enabled, reload the page to see the dyslexia font applied to your Canvas @ Yale account.
