Preventing Files from being Downloaded when using Google Drive (EliApps) or Box
Updated onArticleIn Canvas, all files stored in the Files area of the course are able to be downloaded by users enrolled in your course. If you have a file that you want users to have access to, but prevented from downloading, you will need to store your files in a third-party cloud storage tool like Google Drive or Box, and implement the security features available in your chosen tool to prevent downloads.

Embedding Box (Cloud Storage) into a Canvas Course
Updated onArticleBox is a cloud storage solution available through Yale. Like other cloud storage solutions, you can upload, store, and distribute files. By using Box within a page on your Canvas course, you can have an effective way to deliver files to students in Canvas when you have exceeded your course storage quote and / or the files are too large for Canvas to support (500 MB). This guide outlines how to embed a folder on Box into a page on your Canvas course.

Admin Access in Canvas

Annual Admin Access Renewal
Updated onArticleEach summer, all Canvas admins will receive an email and instructions about the annual admin renewal process. All admins must complete the renewal process regardless of when they first received admin access. To renew access, all Canvas admins are required to review and re-acknowledge the FERPA Agreement and the Canvas Admins Acceptable Use Policy. Those who do not complete the re-acknowledgment will lose access after the posted deadline.

Activating a Canvas User Sponsored Identity
