Creating a Zip Folder to Bulk Upload Files to Canvas

Zip folders are an easy way to package together multiple files to quickly upload to Canvas. Use a Zip folder to upload multiple folders and files all at once.

Creating a Zip Folder on PC

  1. On your computer, find the files (and / or folders) that you need to package up together. Highlight all of the files that you need.

You can select multiple files by holding down the "Ctrl" key while you click on individual files that are out of order, or the "Shift" key to select all the files between two files.

  1. Right-click on one of the selected files to open the menu.
  2. Select "Send to" to open a secondary menu.
  3. From this secondary menu, click "Compressed (zipped) folder."
  1. Your files will now be in a Zipped folder, which can be uploaded to Canvas.

Creating a Zip Folder on Mac

  1. On your computer, find the files (and / or folders) that you need to package up together. Highlight all of the files that you need.

You can select multiple files by holding down the "Command" key while you click on individual files that are out of order, or the "Shift" key to select all the files between two files.

  1. Right-click or hold down the "Control" key while you click on one of the selected files to open the menu.
  2. From the menu, select "Compress."
  1. Your files will now be in a Zipped folder, which can be uploaded to Canvas.
